Funeral Arranging Knowledge

An open-learning programme designed to equip those who are new to arranging funerals with a basic grounding of the information required to deal with routine arrangements. Comprising a manual of technical material with two workbooks and instructions to build a self-compiled reference book of local knowledge this programme can be completed during the first two months of funeral arranging experience.

The package includes:

• A Manual comprising the following chapters (with illustrations): The Registration of Death; The Work of the Coroner; Cremation; Burial; The First Call of Death; Care of the Deceased; Funeral Rites; Arranging the funeral; The Client and Finance; Children’s Funerals

• A quantity of blank sheets and guidance to prepare a self-compiled reference book.

• Two Workbooks requiring the candidate to research information, undertake practical tasks and complete the answers on the subjects covered in the accompanying Manual. The workbooks are returned to the course tutor for appraisal.

• A certificate will be awarded to candidates completing the package.
